Look at this comedown, now silence has become
an untamed beast that commands us
I grew up with anticipation for some kind of calling
Around the dens of 'oh well' and of 'I'm sorry'
I manned up in an unequal fight with no end
under a guise of freedom and temerity
I wanted to be a little like Odysseus
But I was left uninspired by convenience
I chose the fog over Ithaca
Away from the barbarism of certainty
I didn't know how to be somebody and never got to learn it
where I hail from, with my hurry
Everything ended up heavier
I would miss the best stuff, a curse since my crib
I was always put away by this distraught crowd
of the great cause and the 'whatever we can get'
Every law-minding, meek-minded citizen
who lives happy where the devil sows seeds
Some people around me addicted to folk wisdom
made me feel so uncomfortable
The same ones who used to make a holy icon of me before
Were demanding I cancel myself overnight
Then I realised that with these ones too I've been sharing
the best things for years and cheapening them
I stopped working myself up I started to get tired
and I learnt to live and die with them
And this way, I came to face what I was scared of since I was a kid
This untamed beast, silence...
